With an early love of music, heavily influenced by his father’s record collection, Richard grew up on Classic Jazz, Funk and Disco acts such as George Duke, The Crusaders and Chic.
He knew from the outset that his future lay with music and would spend hours making mix tapes as a teenager, eventually discovering House via seminal artists such as Inner City (Big Fun was his first Dance 12”) and Crystal Waters. Erick Morillo and David Morales were also firm favourites as Richard gained a radio spot and began to spin on air at 16.
By 1994, Richard graduated to clubs, DJing at the Studio Circus in Cannes. Work soon followed in Paris at celebrated venues such as Les Bains Douche and Le Palace. A recording career came next with some early collaborations on a tribal tip, his debut release ‘De Trini’ appearing on Claude Monnet’s label Basic Traxx in 1995. After several joint-productions he finally began to record solo in ’99 with ‘I Need You’ on France’s Cyber Productions. This came to the attention of Erick Morillo who immediately picked up the highly successful ‘Deep Down’ for Subliminal Records. With strong support from House tastemakers on both sides of the Atlantic, Richard’s profile began to soar.
