SANDY RIVERA PRESENTS THE BLACKWIZ FARM
MASTERY, PRECISION AND LEGENDARY COMPOSITION –
SANDY RIVERA RETURNS TO HIS BLACKWIZ ROOTS
It’s been five years since Sandy Rivera’s last studio album. In that time the NYC-born producer has committed the cardinal sin of music production – moved away from an incredibly successful formula and dared to dabble in a different genre altogether.
Delve into his past and you’ll unearth classic tracks such as Organised Noise 1 & 2, Flutes (Fade to Black), a favourite for Ricardo Villalobos, Exctasy, Abstract Collage, I Am The Drum, and Mysterious People. As 2010 moves us into a new decade, Rivera indulges his passion for the more minimal beats once more, to sublime effect.Indulge he does, but never at the expense of the music.
What we get with The Blackwiz Farm is a crafted, honed, exquisite and precisely put together study in electronic composition. From the deep, twisted, chugging finesse of REDIAL to the ticking rhythms of Seclusion; the throbbing bass and panning electronic instrumentals of Organised Noise 3 2010 to the subtle sample of Rivera’s classic opus Finally in Aurei 2 2010;
The Blackwiz Farm is quite simply both elegant and masterful. Tracklisting: 1. Aurei 2 2010 2. Reguide 3. Seclusion 4. Lost Trai l5. REDIAL 6. Organized Noise 3 2010 7. Cosmo Bar 8. Undiscovered
Whichever way you look at it, you know who Sandy Rivera is. Whetherit's the words to 'Finally', the album you have by Kings of Tomorrow,the stunning production that infiltrates ALL the way through 'FREAK' orthe untold mixes that have penetrated the dance charts over the past 15years; you KNOW who Sandy Rivera is.
Rewind a decade and a half - take it back to the days where dance musicwas underground, music was made purely from love and the future king oftomorrow was launching a label called Blackwiz. Take it back to a timewhen something amazing happened – a New Yorker with a Puerto Ricanheritage started making records. Following a short run making hip-hoptracks and learning the piano to gain a higher level of musicalunderstanding, Sandy dropped his first LP in 1997. Labeled 'TheCalling' and featuring the man himself on vocals, it set dance floorson fire and brought with it confirmation that something very special had arrived.
