Innovator of Techno Music, Detroit

Platinum-selling recording artist, label boss, festival promoter, true innovator in the pantheon of popular music, cultural champion, cracking DJ: there is a lot to be said about Kevin Saunderson. Kevin Saunderson is a pioneer of techno music from Detroit and one of the members of the legendary Belleville Three, alongside Juan Atkins and Derrick May. Together, they are considered founders of the techno sound in the 1980s. 

As a producer, DJ, and founder of KMS Records, Saunderson blended elements of house, funk, and electro to create iconic tracks, including the classic Good Life with his project Inner City. His career has shaped the history of electronic music, influencing generations of artists and solidifying Detroit s place in the global techno culture. Between Big Fun, Good Life, debut album Paradise and a number of follow-up singles, Inner City (Saunderson and vocalist Paris Grey) amassed 12 UK top 40 hits and over six million records sold worldwide during their peak.
